MOMENTUM
CORE VALUES
Communication skills
As a group, Momentum participants build camaraderie and support among a specialized peer group of like-minded individuals. Students are guided through the development of appropriate social and professional relationships, and are instructed on how to communicate effectively with each other.
Students participate daily in group discussions, are introduced strategies to improve interpersonal communication, and are taught strategies to handle conflict in a mature, adult manner.
Throughout each semester, the Momentum students create a functioning business in which they must work together as a team to plan, prepare, and execute various fundraisers. The funds raised through their business then help to support the group’s social outings and culinary projects throughout each semester, encouraging the students to understand real-world applications of marketing, finance management and interpersonal communication.
As a point of emphasis, the Momentum students are also taught the importance of online safety and presence in the ever changing technological world.
